Hello Boys and Girls..... Today I thought I'd share the first issue Bozo Clown watch. Bozo was one of the most know clowns on television, first aired in 1949 and became extremely popular in the 1960's. The character was promoted by Capital Records.
These watches support a Swiss made mechanical movement and only made for short term, circa 1962-63. Next issue was a full bodied graphic was produced with a clear disk seconds dial juggling bowling pins, this graphic was then changed to dial depicting same picture, but instead of standard style hands, the Bozo arms became the hour and minute hands.
Thanks for looking
Kerry
It's your old pal Bozo !!!!
Thanks Eye4 and welcome to Kerry's Sunday morning call in show ...lol
Wow ... Caller number one ... Cool ...
LOL, You're always one to ask questions, so #1 caller is your spot :-)
Morning Mickey....Thanks for the loves :-)
Ok ... Bozo was a cartoon first, then a tv character ?
Great colors. Thanks for sharing.
Dave
Not really "Cartoon" but a character depicted in a story-tell books and records, first thing of it's kind....
Thanks Dave for the wonderful complement and support
Eye4....out take from Wiki...."Bozo was created as a character by Alan W. Livingston, who produced a children's storytelling record-album and illustrative read-along book set, the first of its kind"
Good Morning Mani....Thanks and big hugs :-)
Alan Livingston ... Owner of Capital records it seems ? Signed the Beatles ?
Another 1960's hit and fame :-), he must have been a great marketeer
Ok, so I looked at the cover of "Bozo on the Farm" record ... Was that the original artwork depicting Bozo ????

Eye4, here the original artwork
Ok ... They may have to recall the watches ... Artwork on watch is wrong ... Bozo has five fingers on each hand ...
LOL....all good, bet recall won't happen, might be why only produced short time :-)
Maybe I was getting watches when younger, but they were not passing my quality control department ... When I was ten years old ... Lol
"Sorry mom and dad, nice watch but I can't accept it ... The artwork is not accurate."
Must be the deal.....to strict.....but "errors" are worth more now...lol
Ok, my last question, then I will hang up ... I wonder why watches were not made with a generic watch and characters printed on the band instead ...
Visually, the dials interfere with the artwork ... Like a tree in front of a store sign ...
Sorry slow response Eye4, They did, the "Liberty" brand watches had several character, Davy Crockett as an example
Thanks aghcollect, appreciated !!
