Having trouble identifying this old figural. Was my Aunts which I saw each time as a little girl I saw on her sideboard in her living room. That would be about 60 years ago. Cannot find any connection with it anywhere. No markings on bottom. Live in Australia & have searched the internet but no good so far. Please help!

Rather than porcelain, I think this is chalk ware.

Looks like a character from "The Jungle Book" , set in India by Rudyard Kipling 1894. The main character was Mowgli-- a boy who didn't want to leave the jungle. Maybe it is supposed to be him? Just a guess.

Look into when they stopped using flat paints on these items I did know but at the moment it's not coming to me sorry early 1930 just a stab in the dark at the moment as I said sorry blank

I also think it is made of plaster

Thank you for your comments. Have done some more research & agree that it is chalk ware/plaster. The other figurines that I found looked very similar. But still am having trouble pinning the age. Couldn't find any information on when flat paints stopped on these objects??? Any more information would be very helpful.
