The first is,of course, a Piping Rock reissue; my guess is that it is a late 1980s-early 1990s model. It is an 18K rose gold plated watch. I have been on the lookut for a Piping Rock for over a year and was finally able to purchase one. The band is a lizard band; the original crocodile band is being repaired and will give me a second option. It now competes with my Hamilton Blair for the favorite among all my watches.
The second is a Hamilton Ryan of 1953-54 vintage with a black dial. It has a bubble crystal and, you'll notice, the bezel is curved inward toward the dial. I added this leather band with a crocodile-looking finish; the watch did not come with a band. I now own 6 working Hamiltons; I have a second Boulton original in need of repair.
Before (or maybe I should say if) I have the Boulton repaired I may opt to have a Waltham pocket watch fixed. This watch dates back to 1906 and belonged to my Grandfather, who died in 1937. My mother gave it to me for my 50th birthday.
