Gulf pencils from my Grandpa's Garage that he opened in 1934 with a $350 loan. He expanded into a Gulf service station and turned it into a dealership for Chrysler, GMC trucks, Dodge trucks, Plymouth DeSoto and Mack trucks. At 84 years old he was still driving his 1940 red Chevrolet truck that he modified into a wrecker so that he could come to the aid of stranded motorists. These pencils appear to have oil in the top portion where it is printed "THIS IS GULF PRIDE".
