This is a Luftwaffe M-35 double decal helmet. This was the standard helmet model worn at the outbreak of the war. The helmet has an approval stamp dated 1936. The paint is the original pre war parade finish blue grey. It is very rare to find a double decal helmet, because by the end of the war helmets were made with no decals to save time and cut costs. The eagle decal is the early war design, for by 1940 the eagle had been changed slightly. The leather liner is intact, and the chinstrap has markings that show that this helmet was issued to the 26th flak regiment.

Very nice!
Hi, Nice early Luft. Helmet!
Thanks
Looks like an honest M35 1st Pattern Luftwaffe helmet. It may have a post war lacquer application to the exterior as it's really shiny. The first pattern Luftwaffe decal was used in late 1935, 1936, and well into 1937. The second pattern Luftwaffe decal is mainly found on helmets from 1938-1943. The Tricolor was actually eliminated in mid 1940 as the vivid colors made for a nice sniper target.
