Hope somebody can help me,I bought this metal box from a friend who sold me her storage has dragon designs with Chinese writing inside,I would love to know more about it,hope somebody can help me,I believe this is old pewter or silver plated but not sure.
The Kanji symbol on the lid appears to be the symbol for "Happiness"

Thanks aghcollect, you have any idea how old this box is
"China" is printed in English on the inside lid so I don't suspect it is very old - Sorry, I can't read the maker's mark.
Again thanks so much aghcollect!
I would not rule out that its not old probable 1920-30 range . China stamp in English has been used since 1890-1920's and into the 30's But the law changed in 1920 to export to the USA it had to have Made in added.
Thanks grendel67!!!!!!!!!!!
