This was my mom's old coffee table. She had it for several years before she passed away. I believe she picked it up from a yard sale. The previous owner did not know any history of the table either.
The textured pieces on top of the table are leather, as well as the perimeter. The leather on the side seems to be held in there with brass rivets. The bowl in the center is brass as well.
If anyone has any idea what kind of table this is please let me know..
Thank you

Thank you Sean68, Manikin and Zowie. I have added a photo of the legs/underside.

This table looks an awful lot like a table my parents purchased in the 1960's in Mexico. Their table was also used as a coffee table for years. I was told it was designed for the caballeros or cowboys to put hot coals in the pit to warm their feet after a long ride or hard days work. The cowboys would sit around the table and put their feet up to rest and get warm.
Research Mohena tables and I think you will find it. South America and not to warm your feet. Also not an antique.
That's one way to get warm
Lbird is correct, and it is called an Ash table. I have one also. Took me forever to find out anything about it.
I just posted pics of my Ash table
