My parents got this when i was a kid. I've always liked it and they gave it to me when i was home vacationing last week. it's from the Enfield Shaker Community. I like how the inside is a different color green than the outside. apparently, the diamond-shaped piece is a sign of Shaker craftsmaship.

You are right about the diamond. These were also made and sold in Enfield, CT but without the diamond design holding the bail. That is where people need to use caution when they buy.
