My father in law was stationed on Iwo Jima and brought back this pilot's flight computer, know to pilots as an “E6B”.
The two scroll knobs on the edge rotate the inner dial and scroll the continuous cloth wind matrix. The device is in excellent working condition. The strap allows the pilot to strap the calculator to his leg so it is handy in the cockpit.
Interesting item,is it WWII vintage or a recent work.
Very nice.
It is late 1930s to early 1940s vintage. It was given to pilots who were learning to fly.
