The remainder of Mom's collection

In 2004 we lost our Mom and was left with her massive collection of Political items. I was lucky enough to come in contact with Tom Slater right after he merged with Heritage Auction but hadn't moved to Texas yet. He very kindly drove to Ohio from Indiana to look through Mom's things himself. Without him I would of been lost.

From the thousands of items he picked 11 of the most collectable and mint items to sell for us. Heritage is all about the best of the best. Also something you never see from collectors/dealers, he gave me advice on most of the other stuff. We split up some of the pins that my siblings sold, and I sold, but I still have hundreds of the stuff left.

It was that year I began my research on these things. At first it was a crash course, and I was lucky because the market was at it's best then. Dozens of pins from organizations, societies, military, you name it, posters, books, glassware, the list goes on forever. A frustrating thing but very educational. I learned so much from this process in the last seven years. The biggest thing I learned is the people that collect this stuff are the best, and it's a lesson in history and culture. This is only part of what is left of the pins that will more than likely go to my kids. There is no political catagory here so..
