I bought two German porcelain/bisque baby dolls during 1992 in a florist shop in George, South Africa. Their faces resembles very much my two oldest children and for this reason the dolls are very special to me.

About 4 years ago my husband and I helped out at the school hostel for 8 months. During that time we had only our necesseties with as and we spent weekends in our own home. During that time we had a cruel burglary where EVERYTHING we owned was thrown out on the floor. Many of our possessions was packed in boxed and we found out that the criminals were busy in our home for about 4 days and were planning to come back and collect the packed boxes. All my jewelry and precious inherited antiques were stolen, amongs all the other things.

My one baby doll was under a mountain of clothes and apparently stepped on. One leg was broken during this process and I recently found a place nereby our home where the leg can be restored. Due to the research the lady has done before she starts with this task I got very much interested in the history of my two dolls.

I do not have photo's of the dolls at this moment, but their heads, half of the arms and half of the legs are made of porcelain/bisque, the rest of the bodies are made of cloth, the eyes are from glass and the hair is only textured and painted, they are about 14" long.

The following marks are at the back of their necks:
    Porcelain Pals CK91\28060/23 - 18
    Porcelain Pals CK91\28060/23 - 17

If there is ANYONE who can give me any information about my two dolls, I would appreciate it so much!!!
