This 1970's art glass vase is identified with "W. Worcester" "Aug. 77" in the maker's hand. This piece dates to the earliest period of Worcester's glass blowing, and was most probably created at "The Foundry" in Honolulu, under the tutelage of Hugh Jenkins. It has a pure organic form and feeling with its internal controlled and "stretched" internal bubbles. The color is blue a pure blue-gray. 1960'-70's American studio art glass from the Hawaiian Islands is very rare and this fine piece is noteworthy for both its aesthetics and craftsmanship. Rare, and wonderful!
Cool vase! Looks like a jellyfish :-)
