We acquired this piece recently at a buy out estate sale. I have tried to find out who the company was that created it, when it was made and its origin. I found only one other piece like it, but it did not give any of the details other than they thought it was made in Sweden. It is a hand crafted rectangle dish with a earth tone glaze and signed "SPODJU". It measures approximately L 9" x W51/2". It had been stored for many years with several other pieces from around the world and in pristine condition. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. It is such a nice piece that it would be fun to learn more about it's history. Thank you!

Hi, I found your comment because I was searching for Spodju. I wanted to tell you I have a covered casserole that is Spodju, and I purchased it in 1977 in York Harbor, Maine at a health food store. I have had it for 40 years and through untold tuna casseroles, bread puddings, cottage pies and blueberry slumps! I thought at the time it was a local potter (in spite of the Scandinavian sounding name). Hope this helps!
