Antique St Louis hand cooler circa 1860. Notice the seam, it isn't damage. They were made in 2 sections, ground flat, joined together and then encased in glass (information from the Glass Message Board).
This one is 1 1/2" diameter x 2" H, has a dog silhouette cane.
