Got this one today almost literally a stones throw from Notre Dame, the golf course for the university was right down the block. It's in pretty good shape except for a bit of rust and such and the tray came with it but the lids are gone. Has anyone seen a lock like this before? It hangs down and you have to hold it up in place and turn the key to lock it, if it had a key anyway. Also, I was wondering if someone could pass along a tip about where you get wallpaper for this kind of job? I've been thinking about tinkering with the interiors a bit but it seems there are quite a lot to choose from and if I could get some advice on how to go about it and where to get the material I'd appreciate it. I'm hoping that with a bit of elbow grease this will look pretty good.
Nice find -- love the cross slat running along the top.... have not seen that lock before and the tin pattern looks unique also. Should turn out great -- looking forward to the "after" shot.
Thanks T-man, the tin is pretty much complete except for a couple of parts that the lid has caught and bent back. Thanks for the loves folks.

This should be the Hillebrand lock patent.
Try : Brettuns trunks.com they may be able to help with parts
and interior paper.hope this helps.
FatBoy, That's a pretty awesome looking trunk. I love that embossed pattern and the lock is unlike any I've ever seen! Very cool!!!!
