This vase relies on it's pure form and type of glass to achieve it's larger then life visual impact.

Made from high Uranium content Jade Green glass (Jadegrün ) , it glows wonderfully under UV light .

Four applied raspberry prunts in same glass .

This piece has been hand made and has a polished pontil and 5 sets of crimping marks to the foot . I have seen these same marks on other pieces ( of Bohemian glass ?. )

    9" tall X 5 " wide max ( 23 cm X 12.7 cm )

I would like to know who made this beauty . I have my suspicions but can not find an exact reference.

I am going to jump out on a limb and say that I think this was made by Loetz perhaps late in in their production , say 1920's- 30's

    Unsolved Mystery

I love the opening on the neck, it in itself puts a lot of style to the vase well done oz now to check out the rest

The parallel line crimping is unusual. I had a large stick vase in amber with a transparent green foot that had the same tool marks on it. I think not Loetz.

Turns out it was Uranium thorn with an amber foot. Found some old pics of it. Excuse the quality. They are pretty old pics of mine.

      Hi Welzebub thank you .
That is an interesting piece a thorn vase post 1918 .
I have seen the same crimping on a " Loetz " cattail /bubble glass vase from latter production ( I wish I kept a photo of it ! ) and on other pieces attributed (so far ) to Loetz .
I will see what I can dig up ...this could make for an interesting project...

Glad to help. I believe thorn vases were made into the 1920's possibly even the early 30's. There is a Butler ad showing Welz production, which is dated 1929. The ad shows a frog legged thorn vase in it as a current offering.

The ad can be seen here:
