    Hi,

I saw this lamp, a few weeks ago, simply described as Czech. Ok there must be a stamp on it?? But "Tchechoslovaquie" is common, for the French market.

I got to wondering, as some of the colours are typically Kralik, sort of in the style of "Bambus", and I have read much about their "Murano" canes et caetera.....

The lamp arrived, and beautifully made. the canes are marvered in, on a spiral from base to fitting.

The surprise came, when, not having mentioned a makers label, I turned this over, to find an intact, circa 1925-34, S Reich, Krasno, label.

I know now it is not Kralik, but the use of canes came as a surprise, certainly from a much under-rated and under-recorded company.

But surely useful to have an identifiable lamp, all the same.

    Cordially,

    Marcus

Very interesting find. Labeled and identified Krasno pieces are few and far between.

Also an interesting mark. A slightly inverted curve from accepted Kralik marks, but utilizing the same open O style of font associated wit the arched Kralik mark. I do not know that I have ever seen this mark before.

May I use your pics for my website Marcus?

Either way, thanks for posting this. Craig

      Of course, Craig, no problem.

I am hoping to get a look at another lamp, in a friend's collection, specifically for the accented E. Under normal French spelling conventions, capital letters do not carry accents.

Lamp-bases, are not well documented, for many Czech producers, and tho' Rapotinské Sklo still exists, like S Reich, little is known of their interwar production.
