So I bought this just because it was a cameo pendant. What I didn't realize until I got home and was playing with my finds for the day, that this one opens up AND has two pictures inside!! Pretty amazing piece! There is a signature on it: PR. ST. CO. 1/20 12k G. K. A website said that the company made costume jewelry from 1890 to 1950.
nice find antique freaque
Thank you!!
Such a nice piece, I have yet to find such an item with all that personality!! (pictures and signature)
The 1/20 12KT means it is 12kt gold filled/rolled, also 12KT and 15KT were used up until 1932, if you were trying to date it. (although I am not sure if that applied to gold filled or rolled gold items) My gut says it was probably made late 1800's early 1900's; I see a lot of the floral framing and 'beading' from that period on costume and fine jewellery alike. Cameo is from a conch shell, for sure.
