I am trying to possibly identify this chair. My Dad got it for doing some carpentry work at least 20 yrs ago (he didn't see the emblem carved in until he got it home and because of how creepy it is never restored it as it is broken at the tenon on both sides of the uprights. It's oak for sure but other than that I have no idea how to possibly identify what it is or what it was used for. Any ideas are appreciated.
Looking at your photo you have been reading and believing what you read on web sites. Keep looking and you will find it.
Several folks have through it could be a "North winds" symbol but I have looked at those and this doesn't appear that similar particularly the 2 sharp teeth? I have searched and searched and cannot find a single image of another chair with a pointed back like this. Driving me crazy - anything anyone can recommend I look for to tell me more about it?? Thanks -- Andy
