Earlier today, fellow patron eye4beauty commented on the case back on the 1939 Ingersoll Donald Duck pocket watch. I answered his query and also added the Mickey Mouse had similar case back, but design was touch different. So here they are side by side for your comparison. The black enameled case is the Mickey , the nickel plated case is the Donald.

After Thought: Added two more photos, the 3rd is "embossed" back cover for the Mickey,4th photo is the "embossed" backing cover for the Smiths/Ingersoll Donald Duck....made in England

Ok ... I think the back of the Mickey looks too similar to the actual watch face ... For the Donald, they probably wanted distinction between the front and back (even though they are different characters) ... So they put a fun "in motion" graphic of Mickey on the back of the Donald ...
LOL Eye4, here's something else to ponder....I've added 4th photo of the "Embossed" back cover

That two faced Mickey version could really mess with your mind

Hey ... as I sit on my rock, pondering why we just don't count from 1-365 each year and then start over .... Did anyone ever produce a two sided pocket watch ? Two working sides?
not to my knowledge , but I have several two faced wristwatches, a crown on each side and dual movement for setting dual time zones
