OLD, CUTE CHAIR--NEEDS A REFINISHING, TOO SHABBY CHIC

I am having a complete kitchen do-over and bought this to do over too--I need a kitchen chair so got this today . It is cute It was forgotten in the trunk of car! So THIS is last today of patio sailing with my daughter.. she said "I'm taking his chair if you plan to refinish it!! " Loves it "as is". Maybe I will gift it to her instead?? Opinions? Enlarge.
