In the next few days, I'll attempt to share some character watches and clocks that you might have never seen to many examples of.
This particular Mickey Mouse watch is an oddity item. This style "Lapel" watch is made encased in a leather ring with braided fob strap and leather button attached at far end. Produced by Ingersoll and serial # on movement, dates it circa 1936. The dial graphics with the Made in USA at the 8 o'clock depict late 1934-37 variant.

I keep thinking that Mickey is a kid's character ... But I think wrong, because didn't they start out as "shorts" between movies? My dad was well into his ...crap! my age now ... and could watch those old cartoons all day
I enjoy the "shorts" but most I remember were on TV, not so much at the theaters ..... Lots of Tex Avery's short here at the Theaters

Understand that....but thinking 50's-60's time frame.....I YouTube a lot of the old Mickeys from the 30's
So from what I have seen ... In the 1920s ... guys were wearing full on suits and hats (not baseball caps) to ball games ... I just can't picture who would be wearing this ...
Well it wouldn't even been around in the 20's.....Mickey was first issued on film in 1928, times were still good, the depression hit, suit and tie folks became coverall workers and street sweepers, by 1936 when this was being sold, would have been marketed towards early teens....Remember the show, the Bowery Boys? that would have been the type to wear such...IMO
I have a straight run Ingersoll Lapel watch in brown, circa 1937 by the # on movement, I'll post photo for you, I still don't what market they were trying to appeal to, but they produced them, just the same
