Hi I've had this bear for 40 years, it was given to me as a child and it was old then I think. His arms legs and head twist around and he is crunchy when you squeeze him. His head is hard and not stuffed and he has small glass eyes. I can't see any buttons or markings on him. He is quite small, maybe a miniature. Any help on his make would be appreciated =)

Sounds like a german bear. Probably stuffed with straw. He probably was old when you were given him. Guestimate 1930, very vague guestimate. He is a fine bear.

I have one of these teddy bears. He is perhaps 8" tall. Cotton pads, three claws, small glass eyes with a painted pupil, and he has a hump. He's solid and his arms crunch with squeezed. He's got slim ankles and biggish pointy feet. A vertically stitched nose. His ears are stitched onto the side of his large head in which sits a small featured face. He came with another little bear from a Canadian dealer. Under his right arm is a piece of string from which I suspect a tag was dangling. On his foot there was a tag too, but it came with him, and no name could be discerned. I too suspect he is German but older than 1930.
