This beautiful lady is a relatively recent product from Marti Glass, Japan.

Marti have made quite a niche in Japanese glass as producers of handmade figures, and they make really beautiful glass figurines of people, animals, and most spectacularly, glass samurai helmets.

Marti were large producers of other glassware such as vases and bowls, but this has reduced in the last few decades.

Interestingly, the name Marti Glass is a pet name, being the Japanese interpretation of the name Multi Glass. The company, and the country as a whole, have taken on this interpretation, and knowingly use the name Marti as a poke at themselves. Cool hey!

My lovely kimono clad lady is about 20cms.
