I don't know, or care for too much "carnival glass" Early this morning (sale opened at 8.00 AM -- I was there) I was not too thrilled when I saw it was most all, "carnival glass" in a deep rich shade. I was first at table of it and saw this. Man next to me said when I picked it up "I think it is Fenton Glass, and not that old." Price was $22.00 I took it to the "cashier" and asked if $20.00 was OK. It was and I left the sale because I had another sale to go to. What do you think? Can someone tell me more about this?

I am glad I got it for some laughs I am getting with it!! So this is a repro then? Cute conversation piece and I will keep it. One thing--is this still considered "carnival glass" and is there a descriptive name for it? Thanks for the posts, I am enjoying them!!!!!

      Tallcakes... Shouldn't there be a mark ?

Nothing but a tiny bit of a silver-blue sticker upon which no text remains.

early WG glass wasn't marked and even after they started using the superimposed WG in the mid 18940s not all glass got marked; not sure if Summit may have marked their glass.

Think Summit was marked SG ?

from what I understand Summit glass often has the mark of the original maker (they bought Westmoreland molds that included a mark); they also had an encircled V mark.

So what is Sgc then ?
    13. eye4beauty eye4beauty, 9 years ago
Eye4beauty ... That mark would be for Smith Glass Company

hard to say on the sgc without seeing the mark. The Summit encircled V was for the last name of Summit's founders - Vogelsong.

No mark on this at all, except a partial old sticker with no text remaining. Mystery maker then?

Not on hand, Consigned to a downtown shop, and sold. Had to have some vet work on my dog's eye and was trying to raise some extra money so parted with a few things.--and basically, this type of glass was not a real favorite of mine.
