I need some help with this one. I'm trying to gather a collection of Civil War Items, and I found this at a flea market. I'm hoping that it is a Civil War Era tear catcher but not so sure. My knowledge is very little to none when it comes to glassware. I am hoping someone can tell me it's use. I thought that it might be a Victorian scent bottle. I just don't know... help.
The octagon vial is 3" long with a bakelite cap (cap has a 1/32" hole for a thread cord). It is cobalt blue in color, and the cap has a rubber insert to seal the bottle when tightened.
Could it be a cianide bottle ??
I think you mean cyanide .......... I hope not
It's a tiny perfume bottle sampler and it had a silver shield-like label and the tassel you mentioned but I can't remember the name of the perfume.....possibly Evening in Paris but I'm not sure. RER
thanks, LOUMANAL
Pretty sure for Soir de Paris art deco era. :-)
