One of my flea market finds today. I see many spoons at these markets, but have never run across any like these spoons. No markings to speak of, but are definitely silver plate. Year? 1920s? 1950s? No idea - yet.
These are cool!!
Is that a catapiller on the back??
Love the design ;-)
Lovely set with wonderful detail Efes!
Thanks, surfdub66 and Rick55! Yes, that's a caterpillar on the back. I searched the internet again today but no cigar. I don't know if these are Dutch or from another country. I don't think these have ever been used, considering the lack of wear signs.
Here is a starting point for you. Holland silversmiths??

MekiG - thanks for that link! My spoons have no maker marks anywhere, and they don't have the feel of solid silver. Other than that, the spoons are identical. How interesting.
My typo, MeliG~!!
Just closed in on your pics !
Looks like a mark in PIC 2 on the spoon backs same place on each , on the bowl just left off centre line near bottom !! Head or cockerel which could be French !!
Also PIC 4 lower spoon looks like a mark between branches!
Maybe light playing tricks or pattern but definatly something there :-) I hope
Good luck
surfdub66 - I'll take a closer look in the morning. I have an eyeglass with 8x magnification. Thanks!
surfdub66- I'm off to sleep - I will spell better in the morning, too! lol
I missed these when they were first posted. Did you ever find out about these spoons, Bonnie? They are delightful. :)
