Here's two of the 4 Dave sent, other 2 wouldn't load to CW, but the main one we all wanted to see is the first one from Ingersoll. You can see in upper L/H corner how the button attaches through hole in Lapel and watch goes in pocket. I have reposted the plain Ingersoll Lapel and Mickey for the addition photos.
Thanks Dave for the scan copies

Very cool ... Classic ... But who was the guy that had a Mickey stuck in his suit pocket ????
    5. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
For all practical purpose....anybody. Example would be me . I'm a Vietnam Marine Corps vet, patch holding motorcyclist and back in my younger years considered an undesirable with the main stream.....And have more cartoon character stuff than most people in the world, so you never know. I'd be willing to bet about anyone on the Disney staff would have had one..... Another example of usage of Mickey Mouse watch, several very well know public figures and Royalty have worn Mickey Mouse watches world wide. the Emperor of Japan wore his every day until it broke and refused to wear anything else until his was fixed. Just because you wouldn't wear one in public, doesn't mean others wouldn't and feel comfortable doing so.

playwright Sam Shepard, Joe Cino(know as the father of off Broadway), artist Andy Warhol, Astronauts Wally Schirra(Apollo 7)& "Buzz" Aldrin, Carol Burnett, Johnny Carson, Tiny Tim, Grace Kelly, Ethel Kennedy, Sammy Davis Jr., John Lennon, Truman Capote, Liberace, Bill Dow (Navy football captain feature wearing his in the Army/Navy game), Vice Admiral Bernard Stream gave a "Disneyland" Mickey watch to Bill Wheat(Officer in charge of the Blue Angels) who in turn gave to Astronaut Gene Cernan that he wore to the Moon on Apollo X.

Never said I wouldn't wear one ... seems like I never even knew they existed when I was a kid ... don't know why ... none of the kids wore watches ...

I didn't mean to refer to "YOU" as you, but in general, just you can't guess what a person might be partial to, the guy in the pin-stripped suit might have boxer shorts or tightie-whities, same if he had Mickey watch on the end of a fob or a 23 jewel Hamilton

Kerry, by the way, the Ingersoll ad is from a Sears 1938 advertisement.
The Ingraham 3-watch ad is from a Sears 1941 advertisement.
There are 1951 ads still showing them.
So this shows that lapel watches must have been popular enough to still be offered after at least 13 years. If they didn't sell after a few months of being offered, they would have been taken out of production.
