I like them simple, - and dependable. Just like cars, the more crap added, is just that much more that can go wrong. MK II did the job reliably & still does. The others? Just things that just float thru. except the .380 Browning, which I keep for potentially exciting nights.
I put these under sporting good & toys.
EEA .380
Fine firearms. In TV and movies the first one can shoot for about 30 minutes without a reload.
Try restarting your computer.
Is that a British Sten Gun? Known has the Woolworth gun but its nasty and cheap.
We've always called them "Grease" gun because of the general shape....resembles a grease gun with alimite fittings.. I like them, just a touch slow on cycle rate, but steady and reliable weapon and 9 mm ammo is readily available
BB2, Just having the magazine to your "grease gun" in my possession, in my state, would change my wardrobe to those horizontal pin-striped suits.
Thinking about moving to Arizona, the most gun friendly state here.
Nice collection.
Dave
Kerry, the "grease gun" was actually the M3 submachine gun. U.S. issue was in .45 acp & the 450 rpm was a bit slow. Had 1 & put a lot of rds thru it with never a jam. The Sten brings the cyclic rate up a bit to 550-600. Anything above 700 rpm is wasting ammo to me. Once you get familiar with a smg, you can fairly well control where every rd goes @ 450-600 rpm. Once you go to 900+, might as well toss a grenade & your magazine seems to always be empty. After all, 600 rpm is 10 rds per second & a good rhythm to control.
Understand... lol. Terms are bit different here I guess, the folks I run with, call the M3 a "burp" gun and the Sten a 'grease', you know us Yankees up north, never call anything the same as you southern gentlemen :-)....Either or, like both variants
And can't forget to mention the Thompson......:-)
What is the gun in picture 2 & from what era?
awesome!!!!!
Very cool guns! Nice display too!
Lol. Hope you have a tax stamp for it.
very cool bb2 ! I see your ready for any invasion :-)
Walks, that's gov't. contract model 1836 pistol made by Asa Waters .54 cal.. Jhorne! What's a "tax stamp"? LOL. I don't live on Uncle Sambo's Plantation.
Kerry, I believe the MP38/40 was the "burp gun". Had that too. About a year ago I picked up a Mac 10 in 9 m/m with suppressor & in the impact proof case. Obviously a special ops thing & went so fast that I didn't have time to think about taking a picture. Years ago, I had a Beretta M1938/44 that had in innovation when the Germans took over production that I liked. Instead of the perforated jacket, the barrel was fluted lengthways for strength & cooling surface & a compensator.
and I thought my bb guns were bad a$$....LOL
Weapons, armor etc. always draws good( or bad response), so why not poste your ol' gran-dads store pistol etc. You may not know what it is, but we can probably fill you in. Without weapons, you can't say you are free.
Actually Steve, I've never fired the 2 I've had here but of course fired them in the States. I play it safe with the buss's & occasionally my Browning. Just too much to lose. Laws here allow certain people to get permits but they forgot to make provisions for importing guns. I often fill that void & the police know it. Actually, they are my main market. Every cop wants a "hide-away". I'm an artist like you but I paint in shades of grey. LOL!
GOOD NEWS, for CW (CyberAsylum). I will probably be off for a few days. TS/hurricane Danny is due here about Monday so have preps. to make. Just another of Mother Nature's BJ's! LOL! The bad news is: I threaten to return. LOL! Oh, somebody please remind Roy to take his medication (as prescribed!).
Hems, to be honest, we do shoot all of these. When the gendarmes hear gunfire, they usually go in the opposite direction (but!) you never really know when one we haven't trained yet may come to investigate. We shoot on private property, so they really don't have authority to interfere. The ones we have "trained" don't interfere but they rotate the "common" gendarmes every 3 months & they are just "catching on" about the time they leave. We know when the new ones come in & know when to be discrete. I actually maintain & repair guns for the gendarmes & they have never seemed to worry about leaving their weapons with me. I have gotten some "raised eyebrows" when friends came in while I had weapons (including smg's etc.) on my counter, working on them!
Still wanting to fire a MP5 & my PAF (Police Aux Frontiers)friend says he can bring one, but has to account for the spent cases. Told him, "I may be able to supply the ammo", & got a big grin! Still working on that. Here, we work in shades of grey (gris) & it seems to work OK. We understand each other & our purposes. Known as a working relationship. Better than in the States where they don't bend!
Big grins...love the story as it's unfolding
Kerry. Do you believe everything you read O/L? LOL!! An old blk. pdr. shooting friend was the commander of the French marine douane (customs) & when he retired, took over the gun club range. His English is worse that my French! I asked him if I could fire my Browning at the range & was told "Oui!". I then told him it wasn't registered & he said no problem. I showed up at the range while there were about 15 people shooting .22's & pellet guns & pulled out the Browning. There was a lot of sign-language & words I didn't understand, but got the message. Put it away! Thru a translator, I was told what days I could bring it. Seems, those days didn't include ones when the range was full of Frogs! LOL! We worked out a schedule. LOL!! Such are days in the tropics!! LOL!!
Never believe nothing...lol....but always ready to hear a good one, I like this addition to the story and have tendency to believe it.... as can see something similar happening to me...
Understand....back woods country living for me, small community and everyone knows the score.... Have a great evening sir
Kerry, please don't call me "sir"! It never was one of my aliases! It never fit my style. LOL!
Gary, you ride bikes in sub 0 weather ? Supposed to be 20 F when I land ! Hope they keep an ambulance at the aerodrome ! S. African friend suggested earlier tonite that I might want to refrain from saying, "Those damned stupid Americans !" That's going to be a hard habit to break. LOL !!
The nurses don't have to run real fast right now. Wish somebody would tell me what is planned & my prognosis. Well, maybe somebody will straighten out all the screw-ups the Fr.-Canadiennes did to our field while the quacks play around with my ticker. Is it true certain things disappear in that cold ? LOL !!
Bb2, wish you the best for your stay with "those damned stupid Americans"; and above all full recovery and lots of successful nurses chases ;-)
Take care!
Thanks Kyra !
Pretend that you are not from the States, but have just watched the elections and the 2 choices made to be President. How many of you would not say or think, "Those damned stupid Americans !". LOL !!
All I have to say today, is: Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
You take care BB2!
It's out of my hands Tassie. At least the wives & daughters are safe this trip. LOL
BB2.....lol .....don't reply, just get better!!
Nice display of toys
Thanks Rocky. A lot more have passed thru since these. I inherited the Browning from a French friend and it stays.
I like my ruger 380. it slides in and out of anything with out catching on anything,,big factor with me ..smiling been carrying mine ever scenes it came out ..for what it is.,,.,.,.,, its a nice little shooter.. the big boys tell me it aint much So I ask what u carry, they say ,.. 44 or a 45 or 357.. I say let me see it..lol they say its home or in the truck ..lmao I say so u tell them wait a min while I get my gun ... if you get in to trouble ... I have bigger guns but only carry them if I'm headed in to a bad zone ifen you know what I mean ...smiling ..later,.. take care...
I have the .380 Browning. It holds 13 rd. in the mag. but makes it too thick for comfortable carry. Would prefer a 6-7 shot for the slimness. I don't figure to be in any more actions at my age and after shooting for well over 65 yrs, figure I don't need the extra rds. I'm still pretty good. Only keep 7 rds in the Browning. 380 is a plenty good self defense round, especially if you know your weapon and are good with it.
well jojo says he's coming for our guns ....bought some pvc pipe been burring them in the woods ..1 tube for rifles ...1 tube for amo....lol later ..nice 380...
"He's" coming for your guns. I don't live on Uncle Sambo's Plantation.
