Got this lovely wood figure at a car-boot sale in London but can't seem to find any information about it.
I believe something is missing in the chest frame so it makes it difficult to me to date it or name it.
    It measures 30cm (h) x 11.5cm (w) x 10.5 (l).

    Any help will be appreciated.

I thought it was a slate board for chalk memos to hang on the wall. 1920-30?

Thanks PostCardCollector. I thought the same but then I just wondered why the string and the holes. I'm actually thinking of buying a day to day tear off calendar to bring this piece back to life :)

Hmmm, perhaps a calendar or menu would hang from the string?

Looking at the size maybe one of those take a number papers.
