I was lucky enough to add another Excelsior toy trunk to my growing collection of doll trunks. This one is a little different than the other one I have, the lock and the slat clamps are a different style and the trunk is slightly larger. All of the ones I've seen online or in person had the brass lock with the eagle, this one has a different style. It looks original to the trunk so it appears they used different hardware on these trunks, as they did with the full size ones.
It is 14 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches and 11 inches tall. It has wheels on the bottom, one is missing so it doesn't sit level. The interior is mostly there, just missing the hat box. All of the leather has deteriorated over the years, one of the handles was in the trunk so I can copy the size and shape. The buckles are not attached but were inside the trunk when I purchased it so can replace those when I refinish the trunk.
I'm thrilled to add this to my collection. The attention to detail in these small trunks is amazing, can't imagine the time it took to construct one of these.

As an Aussie trunks generally are rare and until your posts I had no knowledge of doll trunks.
I love these...as much work as the big ones but beautiful in their size.

Not only cornered the market on toy trunks but oak slat toy trunks. Wait, is that envy I am feeling?
JonB - When I saw this one for sale on an internet I felt like I won the lottery. It wasn't on an auction site so didn't have to worry about a bidding war to own this cute trunk.
I need the experts to weight in on the trunk makes that made this style. I have the leather lock cover, upon closer review it isn't stamped Excelsior with the patent date. Unless it was replaced over the years I don't think it is an Excelsior as I had originally stated in the description.
