    Hello,
I have this huge chalice type Baccarat goblet. I believe it is in the Massena pattern. It hold almost 32 ounces of liquid and stands just under 9.5 inches tall. Can anyone tell me what it was for. Is it a chalice? I have tried to do some research but have not been able to find one. It is an amazing piece. Thank you for your help..

      Hi,

I understand why you think it's Massena (it does look similar), but we've researched Baccarat Massena pretty extensively since we sell a lot of it and have not come across such a large goblet. I would therefore imagine that it is a different pattern, possibly made for private use.

Wow, that glass looks really big and dents seem really big too. To me, it looks like Massena as you said. Although I have work for a company that solely imports Baccarat in a certain country so I had some experiences with Baccarat products, I haven't really seen anything that big. It might be Made To Order goblet since many of their cups are used for a prize as a trophy or just simply a discontinued product.

On October 31,2022 I contacted BaccaratUS and was called Massena Loving Cup and it was discontinued years ago. I didn’t ask for an estimated value but I wish they would have supplied one.
I can’t find anything online about it.

I have the same glass. We always called it a centerpiece. My father bought is in France. Probably 1990 when he purchased my Mother new glasses. It is massena. it could only be ordered with purchase.
