The mark in the corner should be easier to see, now.
C/STZ is what I get out of it.
On the net I found: Joseph Sowinski Stanislaus 1927 - 2010
The artist signature doesn't match.
I don't really want to dismantle the back of this picture, but may have to in the name of Discovery... Please see Part I, too.

For the letters in the stamp, I read ST big Z and a F.
Wasn't able to find an image on the net for it, but a post card editor exist under Stehli STZF... The first stamp C = copyright ???
What is the size of the picture itself?

kyratango - wow! You should be proud! How interesting. So that must be a copyright mark. The paper used with all the fibers must be that watercolor stock paper. I will read all of it in detail.

kyratango - thanks! The link finally opened. What I notice is that the signature on the one in the link vs. the one I have is different. Mine has a separation between the "s" and "l", and the "t"stroke is much shorter. I guess I might just have to remove the backing and see if there is any other information printed anywhere. I wish the original label had not been removed by some dummy....
NEWS FROM VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM, LONDON: The museum didn't know who the artist is (????) so I replied to their email and passed on the information. This is what they could tell me about my picture:

Your artwork is not a pen and ink drawing but rather appears to be a wood engraving, which has been hand-coloured with watercolour. According to my colleagues in the Prints Section, the engraving can be no earlier than roughly 1820, as the technique of colouring wood engravings was not widely used before that date.
I'm afraid I have been unable to identify the artist 'B. Foster', but unfortunately, the names printers and engravers are not so well recorded as those of artists working in other mediums.
I am sorry not to be able to offer more information.
