Looking for more information!
I purchased this clock in an estate sale, and am looking for more information about it. It's a round clam shell style clock.
"Case Made In Japan"
"BRADLEY TIME DIV JAPAN" on back side of clock
There is a clear plastic piece (as if to protect the pink fabric on the inside of the case) that has, "Whirlpool CORPORATION INTERNATIONAL DIVISION" printed on it in gold lettering.
The bottom of the box has a stamp of "557 8_ _" The last one/two digits (not sure how many it's supposed to be) could be an upside down "1" or possibly "IV".
If you have any more information on this clock or know where I could look to find more, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks, Dan
Good morning Dan. I have several Phinney-Walker clocks, most of which are "Character" style timepieces. a few are Clam shell design. Mine are are all made in west Germany and are pre 1970, so guessing .....if yours is Made in Japan, it's probably post 1971. Quartz movement time pieces came into their glory in the mid to late 1980's. That give you an approximate time frame of 1971-86/87 for probable production.
What you have is an Elgin Travel alarm with a world time dial that someone put in a Phinney-Walker box. The dial on your clock says ELGIN.
A nice alarm clock in the wrong box although it is a nice box.
