I love this piece! The embossing is gorgeous. i think its a mold because there are "seam" lines. Its glazed all around even the complete bottom. only marked 234...so i have no idea who made this wonderful craftsmanship. maybe its a west Germany piece by scheurich...i think thats how you spell the name. i say this simply because those pieces are the only pieces ive found marked with a 238, only they are not marked just 238 they are marked 238-4 or 238-14 and so on. any idea who the maker is? anybody? i got this piece at a goodwill in good ol pa this year 2015. nikki

look into hobbyist ceramic pieces; they are available in various colors and finishes.

This definitely looks West German. I live in the Netherlands and see many similar ceramic pieces at flea markets and second hand shops.

Maybe reflects many German's dreams. A German girlfriend from yrs. past said of WWII. "Ve vere not trying to take over the vorld. Ve vere just looking for a better climate."
