This is a large porcelain cup and saucer ,painted in brown with gold rubbed guilding. The handle is aestheric style and the porcelain is thin, ie slightly transparent when held to the light. Scene is as in photo with a bird , pheasant included but not shown to saucer. I would love to know the maker ? Many thanks
Hi have made further enquires and found that it dates from 1870-1890 and was probably painted in Tata Hungry and may well have been a HEREND blank
This is an older Herend porcelain piece. The "T" stamp on the bottom stands for "Tanuló", which means student in Hungarian. The factory fires only so many student work per class, because of cost. The piece was graded and the student was offered to buy it, or it was crushed.
Tata is an other Hungarian city, miles away from Herend. Has absolutely zero to do with Herend or porcelain factory at all. :)
