Featured here are 2 Trainmasters, and Alco RS2 and a GP35.
The smaller locomotive is an Alco RS-2. The real ones were made from 1946-1950. The odel was made by AHM. Alco was huge in the steam locomotive market but failed in the diesel market.
The two large locomotives are Fairbanks-Morse H-24-66 aka the Trainmaster. They were made from 1953-1957. They were a bit ahead of their time as railroads did not think such a large locomotive was needed but now large locomotives like this are the standard. Sadly Fairbanks-Morse became another failed line of locomotives. The model was made by Athearn probably from the 1970s.
The last locomotive is GP35 made by the EMD division of General Motors. These were quite successful and EMD is still making variations of the mid sized locomotives. The model is Athearn and again from circa 1970.
The last photo is a line of Athearn boxcars. These were sold as unassembled kits which well detailed and inexpensive. Now Athearn is only making the Rady to Run models which are more detailed but much more expensive.
