Sometime you just have to make in publicly known of an outstanding deed done by someone , who did something "Just Because" & I need to publicly say THANK YOU and share this outstanding gesture of kindness. I've already talked to Dave last night when I got this special treat, but wanted to pass along to you others here on CW.
Yesterday I had a Dr. appointment and upon returning home, I didn't check the mailbox....and several hours passed and I took the dogs out for their evening walk and checked the mail. To my surprise, there was a small "priority mail" box in amongst a few "Junk" mail flyers. When I got inside, noticed it was sent from Dave(pw-collector) and said to myself, Dave has something else he needs fixed. So when to my desk and open it up....To my surprise, there's a "Thank You" note and a Red Ryder wristwatch inside and statement of how it didn't work, had wrong strap and case was probably wrong also, but as appreciation for me fixing the "Ash Tray" watch, he sent this piece to a place where it would be appreciated and cared for...... OMG, this is something I don't have and been sort of looking for an example, but haven't committed to getting one.
So have to say in my happiest, excited voice.. THANK YOU VERY MUCH Dave and thought I show you the proper case this "working" bad boy was heading for, serviced and got it running last night. I know you said you didn't what recognition for doing this... But had to share such a act of KINDNESS on your behalf.
Kerry
*note.....I will update photos when this is back to Original styling from Rexall Drug Store in 1949-51
That is so nice, I have had three people give me clocks, one because he knew I would take care of his family clock, which I got running and take care of it. One sent me his father's Warren Telechron Model 5F03, “ Brandon” from 1936. I received a White Numechron Model 750, it seems I ordered a chestnut colored one from the man who had it, the man, passed. His wife was going through his stuff and noticed I had bought it sent it to me, because I bought the other one, she didn't want to just throw it away, so she sent it to me.
Russ
Thanks Sean and Russ, @ Russ, very neat story and the extra from the widow is a prize piece , just because of the thought evolved, she knew you would appreciate it more so than a trash man....Thanks again guys very appreciated!!
Thank You captainslack & Mani for showing the support, deeply appreciated
What a great surprise in your mail ! This is what CW folks are all about ! Very cool watch went to a guy that will care for it and love it and pw is always about kindness , 2 cool guys and a neat watch xo
What a kind gesture, & for it to be a watch that you don't have makes it even better. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Kudos's to Dave!
Kind acts get kind acts in return:) Enjoy your new toy!!!
Kerry, thanks for all the kind words, but it just wasn't right for you to have a such a finely displayed "cowboy box" (http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/164568-kerrys-cowboy-box?in=user) and not have a Red Ryder in it. How are you going to decide who has the "fastest draw" if you don't have all the participants?
I knew if anyone could put this back in proper working order and condition you were "the man".
Like I said, you could never be repaid for all you have done for CW members, most, including myself, someone you have never met in person. Thank you and I, along with everyone here, deeply appreciate your generosity.
Dave
I don't know why the cowboy link above didn't work. Try again without parenthesis,

Dave
Kerry, delete this if link doesn't work.
Okay guys, I've fallen behind and will attempt to catch up....
First , Dave gets the "Kudos" on the gift of the year...and link worked fine for me, just now.
Thank You
Mani, yep, you're 100% correct, this is how CW should be, each other helping out the others, there to much "Me-Me-Me syndrome" in the world today.
aghcollect, :-)
David, I agree, "Kudos to Dave" are in order
nutsabotas6, :-)
Trey, I will and already started to redo the beast, believe that's commonly called Karma :-)
&
Dave, what else can I say....but Thanks a ton, BTW, I'm thinking Jeff Arnold might be the fastest gun, but we'll have to have a shooting contest...:-)
Thanks again guys and gal for all the loves, deeply appreciated !!
I have quit CW a few times ... But the basic premise just keeps me coming back ... A place to share ...
Eye4, I hear that and we both know I've had same feelings, but great to see you've been looking and reading my stories from the Horde
Thanks Eye4 & courtenayantiques for stopping in, always deeply appreciated!!
You are very welcome buddy ...
very cool Kerry!!!!
Thanks again Eye4 and Sean :-)
Dam nice to see there is still some good left in the world. Fantastic post. Thank you for sharing it.
That story "made me day"!!
Thank you fhrjr2 for that great comment as to the true meaning of friends. I agree it's great to receive a gift, but I did his watches out of need to see a vintage piece back to original condition, you can't charge someone for helping history...
Thank you PostCardCollector for the wonderful sharing of your feeling, it's been a great day for me and I never dreamed of anything in return.
Thank you VETRAIO50, Mickey & Mike for all the loves show on this

I enjoy giving things to people I know will really appreciate them more than receiving. I can get a free trip to the States in a few weeks in one of my planes & looking at a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 for sale but if you know of anybody giving one away? Who has more fun than we? LOL!!
