I like Ansonia "dollar" pocket watches and I have 3 that are in wooden boxes. The first shown here is pretty worn and hard to read and I believe to be the first of the wooden boxes. Between the three, I can tell you the text that is printed on the boxes.
The Ansonia Clock Co. began in 1850, incorporated in 1873 and stayed in business until they sold their equipment to Russia in 1930.
They produced the first of approximately 10,000,000 watches in 1904.
    First the watch:
The paper dial is marked with the Ansonia trade mark.
The back dust cover is marked:
MANUFACTURED BY THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO.
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
    (the Ansonia trade mark)
    PATENTED APRIL 17, 1888
It is a stem wind, stem set(push the crown down & turn to set time) movement.
The metal case is nicely engraved.
The wooden box with glue-on paper graphics/text:
    Top:
    Front & back image of:
    Prize Medal Awarded
    Paris Exhibition 1878.
    Highest Award Medal and Di-
    ploma obtained at the World's
    COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION

    THE BROOKLYN

Stem Winder (Ansonia trade mark) Stem Set

    The ANSONIA CLOCK COMPANY, MANUFACTURERS

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

    Bottom side of box:
    PATENTED, April 17, 1888
In the United States, Great Britain
    France, Austria and Belgium.

    Top side of box:
    DIRECTIONS
To wind, turn stem to right. To set hands,
push stem down, turn either right or left.
To regulate, remove the back, and move reg-
ulator towards F for fast and towards S for slow.

Great watch & wooden box to be 111 years old.
    Will post other two later.

    Thanks for looking,
    Dave
