I am pleased to share the newest addition to my Georg A. Scheid bracelet collection. This one is an early piece, prior to 1880. It is marked MuS 2 for Markowitsch und Scheid (1862-1882). Scheid got started as a silversmith in Markowitsch's firm in Vienna. They later became partners and family, as Scheid married one of Markowitsch's daughters. He later would set his own workshop, with his mark G.A.S. The pieces by M&S are usually in revivalist or Historismus style, using motifs from antiquity or medieval art, and often enamel. This bracelet is beautifully engraved all around with scrolls and acantus leaves in green and red enamel backgrounds. I hope you'll enjoy it.
