Ansonia Pocket Watch in Wooden Box Part 1 for the Ansonia company information and box information, except this one is, The Guide. This wooden box is also interesting because it was addressed on the bottom of the box, stamped and mailed.
This watch has the Ansonia trade mark, also without the words Trade Mark on the dial. The bottom of the dial is marked: MADE IN U.S.A.
The movement lacks the Ansonia company name, address and patent date.
The box, marked: The Guide on top is interesting in that it has (2) two cent stamps on it and very faintly now, in pencil, it is addressed to Ernest G. Knight in West Waterbury from Myra H. Guss (not sure if all this is correct, it is really hard to make it out).
Anyway, this is the third of the Ansonia Wooden Boxes I have. I hope you enjoyed this little bit of history.
Thanks for looking,
Dave
