I came across this 1944 tube radio here in the hill country of Texas in the Fort Hood area at a pawn shop the shop turned them down on a loan so I followed them out and gave them the money and I am glad I did ! I thought this was a reproduction because it looked so nice and clean well its not it is the real thing. Well I have done some research on this and like I found it is a rare item to find and to find in its natural state and in this great shape and the colors are awesome! the airline name is so clean and the red is like its just waiting to be buffed out and I have not touched it at all once I found it to be a solid metal tube radio.
This radio does have all hardware and does turn on and it hums but not like a electrical issue more of a station with nothing on it but like a snow sound and I found that the tuning know just turns and the dial numbers does not move so I figure it is the issue that is needs a band or string on the dial to move stations is all. I have posted this item on few swap shops and local places and others and no one has wanted it. Now from what I have found this is not a gold mine nor am I trying to make anything off it I am a antique gun collector and really wish for this item to go where it should and not a pawn shop ever its to beautiful and classic americana that I need to get it a home and preserved and fixed as it does power on etc and such fine.
I am not seeking any type of "SALE" I just need it a home where it can be appreciated. If anyone nows of that place let me know it is a sweet item and should be seen by many. thank you all and I love your all's page thank you. jbuffington@gmail.com.....
