Had a good day at the Rose Bowl Flea Market today. Hard to say how old this piece is but it does show some age such as the yellowing of the backing paper and wood. The ones sold now don't tend to open up at the back like this one does.
The butterfly has almost a 5" wingspan. It has a much larger abdomen than the usual butterfly, was thinking it was perhaps a moth but it is a butterfly. This is a male Troides aeacus which is a type of swallowtail found from India through the southeast Asia area.
