I came across this key and have had no luck in trying to identify it. It measures 2 1/2" long, has large teeth on each side and a center hole in the end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a key for what is referred to as a "Scandanavian" padlock. Inside the lock is a stack of round plates, each with a notch at different places along their circumference. When the key is turned it aligns the notches allowing the hasp to be completely removed from the lock. There is no spring. The key is then trapped in the lock and must be reversed to to re-lock it.

Here is a slightly different kind of Scandi lock which uses thinner places and a 1 sided key but the concept is exactly the same
