The battleship being the USS Idaho BB-42 which was commissioned in 1919. This tin was released in 1937 and featured eight other US Navy ships along with the Idaho.
Loose-Wiles was the maker of Sunshine Biscuits ( I think that is the English word for cookie).
The Idaho survived WWII with little damage and was scrapped in 1947.

My wife used to own one of these old tins, almost identical to yours. They're great display pieces!

You are right, biscuit is the term used for cookie in England and other parts of the old empire like Australia. There was also a Sunshine Biscuit company here in Australia. But I gather your interest is the ship not the tin.

Thank you Australianepphem. I collect militaria and kitchenware. I think it will go with the militaria as there is more room in that department.
