We have this toilet (still installed) in our basement. It's dated 1904. We found this old advert online, but not much else:

Ours is the #1 style. It's still all in tact, but we've yet to even touch it or scrub it (obviously). Just wondering if anyone knows anything.

these toilets are worth around $2000.00 or at least that is what i found them being at online

My grandma was born in 1919. I am researching her life. In a memory book she writes about an object I was unfamiliar with. "The old Vogel toilet. We had to go outside on a porch and then turn back into a little cold room! When you sat on the seat it pushed down and when you got up, it flushed! The pipe went a long way straight down." Thank God for indoor plumbing.

I have 2 Vogel toilets. I am a die hard collector of old kitchen and bathroom items. It breaks my heart so much beautiful stuff ends up destroyed or sent to the dump. My plan is to restore one for home use. I live in a 20 year old single level desert home with traps under my house. Its too cool not to try! If #2 is in it I can dump a bucket of water down it and I will use bleach at least weekly for sanitary reasons...
If inside doesn't work I will put it outside when I get my pool and have a "cabano" rather than a cabana!
I am putting in a pedestal style bathtub. And I have a beat up drysink I will be putting a hole in the top to accommodate my Mexican talavera sink basin and refinish the wood and top in glass and paint the Vogel and outside of my tub to match talavera basin.
I'm psyched!
Anyway I'm not parting out my extra Vogel. I will make a few repairs. If anybody here will not part it out but rather give it a loving home to use or just have as a conversation piece and promise not to sell it to anybody to gut it I will sell my extra.

I'm his grandson, Peter Vogel. I just had the random thought to google "Vogel toilet". I saw an image years ago when a fellow wanted to track down the story of its maker. Ol'grandad's toilet become a bit of a mystery, heh.
I a few years ago I had my Philip Haas Frost Proof Toilet on here well its in the Carillon Historical Park Dayton, Ohio the Robert Dupont Family put it in there its pretty famous now message me will tell you more Thanks Rip
