I am trying to find out the history of this lamp for an elderly friend. She is in her 80's and said it was her mothers. She does not know any further info. It is a working floor lamp the shade is glass and cream in color. The base is metal perhaps brass or bonze. I didnt see any markings but did see some numbers.
It's a torchiere floor lamp which means the light is on top like torch. It has an onyx or marble base. It is a great piece looks 1920s according to my guessometer. I don't think we have had much luck with lamps here as far as specific info for the manufacturer. Many manufacturers and not much info.
Thanks for the info!
I don't know anything about this lamp either but I wanted to comment that I have a very similar lamp with an old milk glass shade that contains lead...you can tell because the milk glass has a bluish shimmer it, and when lit, the milk glass has a glow of golden to it, sometimes referred to as the "fire" of old milk glass. (This is due to the lead as well.) The shade is in opening flower shape. The column on the lamp, from the shade to the base, is covered in carved glass, which is very rare to see. The base is almost identical to the lamp shown here. Haven't really looked for markings. This lamp was headed to a landfill when I requested it be given to me instead. Shockingly, it had been used in a homeless shelter where items were routinely damaged or destroyed. The switch at the base of the shade is broken...I plug it in to use it. If I find anything about this lamp, I will share it with you, as I am guessing same or very similar maker.
