I found this jacket in a thrift store for 10 cents! I don't know anything about them but it just seemed wrong to have it laying in a thrift store so I scooped it up. I'm hoping someone can tell me about the era this coat is from. It's in absolute pristine condition other than areas where patches were removed and a missing button. It'd be great to have a little information about the history this coat may have seen. Thanks for any info you can supply!

Thank you! Is there any way to know the age of the jacket? Many pictures I have found of identical jackets are pretty old.

hard to say without any other identifying insignia patches but looks to be current enlisted dress uniform

The Dress Green should be phased out by now.

The Army Dress Uniform is the Blues.

      The tag shows a contract # of 9034- 87, which I believe translates to a 1987 contract.

Thanks guys! I'm not sure why but I was compelled to buy this jacket. Now I've spent hours trying to figure out why. I really like it though.

      Glad to help out.

The dress green will work for a dress uniform display for our "Modern Wars"-- Desert Storm, OEF, OIF.

They have little value now-- if you hold on to it for another 50+ years, things might change!

      Welcome to CW.

My dad was in the airforce and was in desert storm. He was guessing this jacket was from around that time period but he said it was "just a guess". I'll definitely hold onto it. I love history and generally hold onto things that represent our countries past.

I'm still not used to seeing Dress Blues where I expect to see Dress Greens. I go on post and it seems like all the uniforms - PT, utility and dress - have changed. Makes me feel very, very old.

I feel the same way when I go out to FT Campbell-- maybe WE are very, very old!
