I couldn't find ANY photos of these earrings. Clearly stamped "SIAM STERLING" on the bottom. 1 1/2" long and 1/2" wide.
I wonder if they are 1940s .....or earlier.
"In 1939, Siam had its name changed to Thailand by the Fascist leader Field Marshal Plaek Pibulsonggram out of nationalism and, some believe, racism. The name means "Land of the Free" and reflects the fact that it is the only country in Southeast Asia that was never colonized. It was known as Siam from 1945-1949 and then was renamed to Thailand again in 1949."
1930s art deco siam sterling nieollo. I might havr misspelled that last word
robin56, I see tons of this jewelry here in the Netherlands - bracelets, brooches, rings...but never a pair of hilariously hideous earrings like those....which is exactly why I bough them....for less than $8.00. I have been searching on the web for another pair but haven't found them yet.
try http://www.etsy.com. they have alot of jewelry like that. These also seem to suggest a little bit of india influence as these pitchers are popular there.
These are sooooo cool Efes... I love 'em!
niceeeeeeeeeee..
Thanks, everybody! robin56, I looked on Etsy, eBay and did an image search. Zip Zero Zilch. Maybe I have the only pair? Hahaha yeah right! :)
