I have numerous mirrors around the house that go way back. This one has the slightest bit of "blackening" near the edges of one section that occurs around most older mirrors. Still I'm clueless as to why that darkening happens? I have one other mirror that I will post that is much nicer than this piece, but boy oh boy are these hard to photograph. Gotta get in just the right side view to avoid the flash of the flash, and yet still get the shot in its totality. I like the scroll detail work along the top of the far left & far right section and of course the detailed woodwork.

      Hi Kerry,
I love your mirrors, both of the ones you have shown, thank you for sharing.I can tell you why old mirrors like these develop dark spots, the mirror is painted on the back of the glass, when it drys up as on a mirror of this age it peels away allowing the glass to show through. The remnants of the paint are dark, therefore leave dark spots. You could have it reglazed but it would detract from the value in my opinion.I have an old vanity that belonged to my aunt,it also has dark spots on the 3 part mirror which can be turned in order to see how you look from the backside, very cool.It goes back to the day when ladies wore silk stockings with seams, you would never want to leave the house with crooked seams.Lol so they developed an "app" for that.
I love your mirrors, the detail is absolutely beautiful.
      Have a good day,
      Dottie
